Good to know
Google Docs turns a line that starts with “1. ” or “- ” into an automatic list. Trace notices when that happens and undoes it, so the line keeps exactly the characters in your draft.
From a Word upload, Pro applies bold, italics, underline and headings with the Doc’s own keyboard shortcuts as the text goes in.
A page break in your Word file becomes a real page break in the Doc, so a title page or a reference list still starts on a new page.
In a comment box, where Ctrl+Enter would post the comment, a page break is typed as a blank line instead. Trace types into Google Slides text boxes too, without the Word formatting.
Schools and workplaces set their own rules about how work is entered. Trace types writing that is already yours; where a rule says otherwise, follow the rule. Read the ethics statement.
